Stay on the Ring Road, everyone has told us. And today we saw an alternative to it and understood that this had been a very good piece of advice. The bridge you can see in the photo, connecting two narrow sand paths almost disappeared due to erosion, used to be a part of the main road from Reykjavik to Akureyri. We saw an old photo of brave souls traveling on this road by car, even though it looked to us like it was too narrow even for horses. We plan to stay on the Ring Road.
